Best Fall Assignment Locations throughout the U.S.

It may feel as if you have just accepted that summer assignment, but time is flying by and fall will be here before we know it. With the falling of the leaves, the mix of hot and cold weather, and aroma of autumn throughout the air, there are many amazing locations to spend your September through November. Once September approaches, many spend time going to pumpkin patches, attending sports events, going apple-picking, and so much more.

Below are a few of the best locations throughout the United States to spend your fall assignment. Make sure to follow up with your recruiter to check for our openings in or around these areas.

Charleston, South Carolina

Charleston, SC is filled with many opportunities to fully celebrate the autumn season. Filled with cobblestone walkways, horse-drawn carriages, and centuries-old mansions, spend time enjoying this quaint town. Especially closer to Halloween, this is a prime location to get a little spooky. If old walkways and buildings are not your cup of tea, no worries. Charleston is filled with many innovative restaurants, art galleries, and historic landmarks. It also has several beach towns that are filled with entertainment night in and night out.

Asheville, North Carolina

In this quaint mountain town, the opportunities are endless for a diverse and unique experience. Options for travelers here include vibrant art scenes, beautiful sights, and Southern traditions. It is also where multiple colleges are located to provide that “college town” feel during football season. Many people visit the Biltmore Estate, the historic house museum originally built for George Washington Vanderbilt. Asheville also homes various breweries throughout the town to truly provide a taste of the culture and tradition.

Boston, Massachusetts

It is no secret that Boston, MA is one of the most beautiful cities in the country, and fall only magnifies the views. With many historic sights and the various colleges and universities in the area, Boston explodes with great experiences each fall. Depending on when you arrive here, you may also have the opportunity to catch a Boston Red Sox game. Boston has enough activities to continuously keep you busy not only in the day time, but the night time as well. As the leaves turn red and begin to fall, this location truly comes to life.

Santa Fe, New Mexico

When people begin to think about places to spend their fall, Santa Fe may not be the first location that comes to mind. However, there are few places throughout the U.S. that can offer an experience that it can as the leaves change colors. This is a very culture-based location that is filled with Gothic cathedrals, various ways to experience the arts, Spanish–influenced architecture, and beautiful views of the great outdoors. For those history heads out there, there is no shortage of museums to experience as well. It is home to the Museum of International Folk Art, the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, and its own opera.

Dallas – Fort Worth, Texas

If you are looking for the full ‘Texas’ experience this coming fall, look no further than the Dallas area. From the Dallas Cowboys beginning their season to the Sixth Floor Museum, there is something here for every type of person. For children, activities available include the Fort Worth Zoo and the Dallas World Aquarium. Dallas is filled with the Texas culture of huge hats, huge horns, arts, huge events, and everything else you would expect.

As your summer assignment ends, these locations are great options as you hit the road for your next adventure. Fall is a great time of year to explore new opportunities, sights and sounds, and gather new experiences. Wherever you go for your next travel contract, be sure to make the most of it.
