Don’t hesitate about housing

You’ve finally decided to make the leap into traveling. Seeing new places, new facilities, new coworkers – it’s all so exciting! However, one thing many first-time travelers hesitate about is… housing. Rest assured, with today’s modern technology and social media the resources are endless. Here are a handful of the most common housing leads travelers utilize.

Airbnb

Airbnb is quickly becoming one of the most utilized options for travelers. Personally, I like this site because it offers so many unique options to make your stay comfortable and convenient, even remote locations! Facebook

Not only is Facebook a social network, it’s also a network for travelers looking for a place to call home while on assignment! There are so many groups on Facebook specific for travelers. A couple of examples include Travel Nurse Housing – Furnished Finder and Nomadic Nursing – A Travel Nurse Housing Page. For more groups simply search “travel nurse housing” in the search bar on Facebook and click on the ‘groups’ tab.

AurHomes

If you are convinced finding housing on your own is not something you want any part in, let Aureus take care of it for you. AurHomes, Aureus Medical’s sister company, has been finding our travelers short term options for over 20 years and operates in all 50 states. Typically, accommodations with AurHomes will be a fully-furnished, one bedroom apartment or “extended stay” located in an area convenient to the facility. AurHomes will even set up utilities, and don’t forget Aureus Medical covers rent expenses. Your housing coordinator and your recruiter will work together to find the best accommodations for you, hassle free.

Finding your temporary home away from home is now easier than ever. With technology and resources such as AurHomes, finding a home on assignment is less stressful than it used to be.  Leave a comment with your favorite source to find short-term housing.

  1. This is some really good information about how to find good housing. it is nice to know that it would be smart to consider looking at things like Airbnb. It does seem like a good thing to keep in mind when it comes to furnishings. My sister wants to be a travel nurse and it seems like a good thing to find places that will be comfortable for her to stay at.
