Until Next Year…

GaylordI recently had the pleasure of exhibiting at the American Association of Nurse Practitioners Conference in “Music City”, Nashville TN, June 19-21. The conference was held at the beautiful Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center.

Over 5,000 nurse practitioners were in attendance at this year’s conference. There were approximately 260 concurrent sessions, 38 skills enhancing workshops and up to 42 contact hours of continuing education. Workshops and seminars provided a variety of topics for Continuing Education including:

  • The Acute Abdomen in Primary Care: Are You Ready?
  • Minor Surgical Skills for the Primary Care & Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
  • The Hospitalized Patient with Fever: Now What?
  • Acne, Pathogenesis & Treatments: Choosing the Best Therapy for Your Patient
  • Improving Quality of Care, Patient Outcomes & Costs with Evidence-Based Practice: Key Strategies for Success
  • Spirometry for Primary Care Nurse Practitioners
  • New Drugs in the Arsenal in Primary Care
  • Psychiatric Disorders in Primary Care Settings: Integrating the New DSM-5
  • The Bare Bones of Osteoporosis: A Case Study Approach to Evidence-Based Practice in Primary Care

It is always a pleasure to put faces with names when exhibiting at a conference as well as meeting new Practitioners. It is great to hear where you come from, what is important to you in a job, and explore the possibilities of new career opportunities. Whether it be taking a travel assignment for the first time or seeing what is on the market for a new full time opportunity, we love to hear what is important to each individual person.

MartinaMcBrideI also had the pleasure of attending an AANP-sponsored event with Martina McBride performing for Musicians on Call. Musicians On Call brings music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities. So, not only was attending for a great cause, it was also a great welcome to Music City!

AANP has again found a great destination for the 2015 conference. From June 9-14, they are heading to “The Big Easy” – New Orleans, LA. This fabulous city will get be the host for more than 5,000 Nurse Practitioners. We hope to see you there!
