Living in an RV offers many benefits for traveling nurses

Many traveling nurses choose assignments, pack their things and hit the road intent on moving into a temporary home for the duration of their contracts. However, a growing number are declining to live in a hotel or temporary apartment and are investing in recreational vehicles (RV).

RVs allow nurses to take on contracts with new hospitals without having to worry about what household materials will be provided for them. Instead, they can take everything with them in their RVs. From pots to cleaning supplies, the necessities of daily life are all stored inside the mobile unit. This unique method of housing cuts down on time spent packing for long assignments and can negate the need to make a special shopping trip for supplies once arriving at a new destination.

An RV can conceivably be paid for using a housing stipend a nurse may receive in lieu of furnished housing. An RV also allows nurses to enjoy a sense of comfortable normalcy. It is a designated space that doesn't change every 13 weeks, allowing a nurse to relax and enjoy her time off. A traveling nurse may wish to check out RVs if she feels it may suit her needs better than traditional housing options.
