As much as we may not want to admit it, winter is quickly approaching and it is time to start looking for a great spot to celebrate the holidays!  Some people enjoy a cup of hot cocoa after a day of skiing in the mountains; some enjoy soaking up the last bit of sun down south; and some just enjoy sitting by the fireplace with a good book during the rainy season!  No matter where you are or what you enjoy doing, there are some great places to check out when considering your next hot spot for travel! This fantastic Parade takes place in November and attracts millions of fans both locally and also those tuned in on the television. It is the most popular Thanksgiving holiday celebration in the world. It is a three hour parade all around the city of New York. Bring your hat and gloves for this event for sure!

National Christmas Tree Lighting & Pageant of Peace

For 85 years, the American tradition of lighting a national Christmas Tree has continued, interrupted only briefly in its history during moments of great national travail. The tree itself is a live 40-foot Colorado blue spruce transplanted from York, Pennsylvania to its present site on the Ellipse in 1978. The Pageant of Peace includes live performances and the lighting of the National Christmas Tree. Each night during December, musical groups perform free concerts for the entertainment of visitors to the Ellipse.

Festival of Light

November / December
This holiday extravaganza draws more than 300,000 visitors from across the USA. A thousand local volunteers come together to create the over-3-million-lights spectacle in 43-acre Shannon Springs Park. Carriage rides provide the best views. Other attractions include one of America’s largest Christmas trees, 100 Lakeside Displays, trees and walkways, the Crystal Bridge of 75,000 lights, holiday music, concessions, Santa, and shopping.

  1. When on holiday I prefer to enjoy soaking up the last bit of sun down south and enjoy a glass of soda. By the way, my sister really wanted to be a professional nurse. My sister is really very interested in becoming a nurse. She’s really wanted to save a lot of people. And I strongly support her decision. In my opinion, a job as a nurse is very noble job.
