Fighting Social Distancing Boredom

Currently practicing social distancing at home? Here are some ideas to try while you have to stay inside. It’s not typically normal for people to be stuck inside 24/7 so try any of these ideas in case you’re getting cabin fever.

Try learning a new language!

Babble and Duolingo are both free apps that you can install on your phone! Since you have some spare time, you might as well workout your brain and study something new.

Search at-home workouts online.

YouTube has a variety of at-home workouts you can watch for free. Most of them don’t even require weights or machines.

Memorize some new recipes or learn to cook!

Pinterest has thousands of recipe ideas that are not only easy, but also pretty cheap. Is there something you’ve been itching to learn to make? Just search from their recipes and there will be many options to choose from! Many of them are listed step by step or only consist of a few ingredients so they won’t take long at all.

Amazon Grocery, Bakers, and Walmart all have delivery. If you like Target for your food items, they have in-store pick up and will deliver it right to your car in their parking lot.

Order take out or delivery from your local restaurants.

Many smaller places are struggling right now, so help out your local businesses! Grubhub, Ubereats, and DoorDash are all applications you can download from your app store. They’ll list the businesses they work with and deliver for.

Binge watch the movies and shows you’ve been hearing about.

Amazon Prime, Hulu, HBO, and Netflix are all popular services to keep you up to date on the shows everyone is raving about. You can even message your friends and start a series together too. It can be like a virtual book club but for TV series.

Order books online.

Services like Amazon have books available for purchase or you can also visit https://readanybook.com/ to read their books for free!

Is meditation and yoga your thing?

This is certainly a hectic and frustrating time for everyone. If you’re looking for a way to relax or get your mind off the outside world, these two things can certainly help.

Insight Timer, Smiling Mind, and The Breathing App are all free applications in the app store on your phone.  You can also click these links for yoga videos on YouTube.
