Rad Week 2014

“Thank You”

If you follow my blog series, you’ll undoubtedly know that last year I recommended we party like it’s 1895! Some of you got it right away and some of you had to read the article. By the way, if you have not read it, read it here.

It’s that time of year that we once again celebrate National Radiologic Technologist Week in recognition of the birth of radiology. Last year I went over the different modalities of radiology and explained a little bit about each one for those of us that are unfamiliar with them. This year I wanted to talk about all the wonderful professionals that Aureus Medical employs, and all the hard work and lives saved that are because of the travelers that travel with us.

Did you know that Aureus Medical has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare staffing? Take a moment to think of all the professionals who have traveled with us over those years. Can you imagine all of the lives touched, or saved, during that time?

All the Cath Lab Techs who have gone in and set up Cath, EP, and IR labs and trained staff. Not to mention the countless invasive procedures performed and lives saved. Let’s be honest, when you as a patient go to the Cath Lab, it’s not a routine procedure; there is risk involved. A lot of nervous families waiting in waiting rooms have received great news that the procedure was a success.

All the CT, X-ray, and MRI techs whose diagnostic procedures have helped identify problems and aided in providing a solution to the problem. Imagine all the patients that have been cared for over the years and all the lives that have been positively affected.

The Mammographers who have performed countless screens and biopsies and the Patient Navigators who have helped guide the patient once a diagnosis has been made.

It’s pretty humbling to think of all that our travel employees have done over the years in patient care. That is why for Rad Tech Week, I want to celebrate all of our professional, caring, and thoughtful Radiology Techs, and all the different modalities that they work in. I also want to thank them on behalf of all of the employees at Aureus Medical and the hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of patients whose lives they have affected.

Thank you! Now let’s see that Annabelle Serpentine Dance (google it, it will make sense).

Andy HannemanAndy Hanneman is an Account Manager in the Diagnostic Imaging division of Aureus Medical Group. Andy and his wife just celebrated the birth of beautiful twin girls in June. When not working, his life is filled with feeding and changing diapers. (He would also like to mention the tireless efforts of his wonderful, beautiful, patient, and understanding wife who takes care of the girls fulltime. Without her, his sleepless nights would be much worse.) They are thinking of opening their home as a tourist attraction and showing off “Diaper Mountain”. Andy went a little overboard when preparing for the birth of his children by stocking up on diapers and now thinks they are good for the next 2 years.
