Idaho couple’s business set to accommodate healthcare industry growth

Healthcare jobs are forecast to quickly develop through 2020, which a Southern Idaho couple is prepared for.

The Times-News Magic Valley reports Robyn and Jerry Maxfield's company, Comfort Keepers, employs nursing students, nursing assistants and personal care aides to assist clients and help them live at home. The business that provides for nursing jobs was inspired by life situations of Robyn's grandmothers, both of whom required aid with their life and times.

"I saw a need in my own life and filled it," she told the publication.

Personal care aides, home health aides and registered nurses are among the most rapidly developing fields, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

For the 10-year period through 2020, total employment is forecast to increase by 14.3 percent, the federal agency states. That will help create roughly 20.5 million jobs.

Robyn Maxfield also holds a bright outlook for future prospects as she believes the industry will continue growing and expanding, largely due to the aging baby-boomer population. The time frame she cited is the next decade and beyond.
