The next stop on our journey of the hottest destinations for those in the travel healthcare industry is none other than the Grand Canyon State – Arizona! Because Arizona is widely known for the Grand Canyon, you might think it has nothing else to offer. I’m here to tell you this: you’re wrong! For those who don’t believe me, here is a list of some of the many things to do and see while on assignment in Arizona.

Northern Arizona Given the state’s nickname, it should be a no-brainer that you must visit the Grand Canyon while in Arizona. The park offers three distinct experiences on the South Rim, North Rim, and West Rim. Tour the canyon on the back of a mule or inside a helicopter. No matter your preference, great views are in store. Not far from the Grand Canyon, water sports abound on Lake Powell, America’s second largest man-made lake. Boat tours, fishing, and hiking are just a few options for adventure seekers to enjoy. For more fun things to do in northern Arizona, click here.

North Central Arizona Just north of Sedona, slide down natural water slides and relax in the creek at Slide Rock State Park. It has been named one of “America’s 10 Best State Parks,” and rightfully so. I have been to Slide Rock and can assure you that it provides fun for all ages. If you are looking to experience some of the Wild West, Prescott is where you need to be. The world’s oldest annual rodeo, Victorian homes, and saloons are some of the treasures you will find in historic Prescott, Arizona. For more fun things to do in north central Arizona, click here.

Central Arizona Get a taste of city life in Phoenix, home to more than one million people. With sports venues, golf courses, spas, and boutiques, there is a little something to please everyone. On the opposite end of the spectrum, get a little dirty in Wickenburg, a town known for its working ranches. Ride, camp, and work with real ranch hands! Southern Arizona Tombstone, the “Town too Tough to Die” and home of the famed gunfight at the OK Corral, is located in southern Arizona. Take a stroll through the 12,000 square foot courthouse museum to learn about the territory. Not only is Tucson home to the University of Arizona, but it hosts many fairs, festivals, and events to showcase its multicultural heritage. Western Arizona You are probably familiar with Route 66, one of America’s first transcontinental highways. In western Arizona, you can travel one of the last segments of the original Route 66 and get a feel of what travelers in the 1930s faced.
