How to improve concentration during a long shift [VIDEO]

Transcript

We’ve all had a work shift where it seems exceedingly difficult to stay focused. As travel nursing professionals know, though, concentration is key to accommodating each and every patient at your best ability.

Unfortunately, distractions abound in the workplace. To limit interruptions, travel nurses can take steps like setting an out-of-office reply on their email, turning phones on airplane mode to prevent being bombarded by calls and texts, and taking a short break to stretch and refocus.

For professionals who tend to worry about issues unrelated to work, try setting aside a designated time of day to deal with these recurrent problems. For example, set 5:00 p.m. as your time to deal with things that are bothering you. When your mind becomes sidetracked, remind yourself that you have a special time to address this.

These simple methods can boost concentration and work production to keep you on your toes throughout the day.

As always, thanks for tuning in and be sure to check back soon for more travel nursing updates.
