Feeling stressed? Try yoga after National Yoga Month [VIDEO]

Transcript

September was National Yoga Month, but even as we enter into October, medical staffing professionals can expand on yoga as a great way to reduce stress in their busy lives.

We know that work might feel overwhelming at times. But hitting the yoga mats is a great way to unwind and refocus – all while getting in a physical workout.

As a complementary treatment to Western medicine, yoga is a powerful tool that boasts a wealth of benefits. The ancient practice has been shown to improve flexibility, which could allow healthcare staffing specialists to feel less stiff during long shifts. It also can enhance posture and boost strength in hamstrings, quadriceps and abs. When done right, nearly all poses build core strength in the abdominal muscles.

Importantly, you may feel less stressed and more relaxed after doing some yoga. Some yoga styles incorporate meditation techniques that help sooth the mind by focusing on breathing techniques.

Thanks for listening, and be sure to tune in next time!
