What is travel
nursing?
You’re a skilled nurse, but want to travel the country, build your
resume, experience a variety of healthcare facilities, or make new
friends. Work as
travel nurse and you can! There are
so many things to love about travel nursing, starting with the
freedom to choose where you want to work and your schedule while
being taken care of every step of the way by a dedicated account
manager. Travel nursing assignments with hospitals are generally 13
weeks. Complete an assignment then travel to your next one. Or take
a break between travel nursing assignments. Aureus offers great
benefits, 401K, free housing complete with furnishings, tuition
reimbursement, and more. Work for Aureus and move from, “what is a
travel nurse?” to an exciting new phase of your career! Aureus has
been staffing medical facilities for more than 25 years. We offer
travel nurse jobs in all 50 states.
Will a travel
job be a great fit for me?
There are many qualities those in healthcare careers share that make
them succeed in travel nursing, travel physical therapy, travel
occupational therapy, or traveling as a radiology professional,
laboratory professional, in the advanced practice field or in
another allied health job. Flexibility is vital, as you will have to
adapt to a new environment in a short amount of time. Being a team
player, maintaining a positive attitude, and being able to acclimate
well to a variety of settings are also important to a successful
healthcare career “on the road”.
What do I need
to do to start working with Aureus Medical in a healthcare job?
First, you will need to complete our
online application.
A recruiter will contact you once this is complete and talk with you
about the goals you have for your healthcare career. At that time,
you will need to complete a skills checklist as well as provide an
updated resume and current references. Then we’ll begin identifying
exciting travel nursing, travel PT, travel OT and other jobs
nationwide that fit your preferences.
What obligation
am I under after I submit an application?
You are under no obligation to Aureus Medical after you submit your
application. Once we have found a travel job assignment for you and
you sign a contract, then you will become an Aureus Medical employee
for the duration of that assignment.
What is the
average length of travel job assignments?
Depending on your modality/specialty, the length may vary from one
month to a year, but our typical travel job assignment is 13-26
weeks. Contact your Account Manager if you are interested in
extending your current travel job assignment. We have great
healthcare jobs available in travel nursing, travel physical
therapy, travel occupational therapy and for radiology
professionals, respiratory therapy professionals, sleep
technologists, cath lab professionals, medical laboratory

How can I be
sure that there will always be travel job assignments available?
Flexibility is key! We have travel jobs available nationwide and do
our very best to connect you with the location of your choice,
however an assignment may not be available in the destination at
that particular time. Our extensive client network is comprised of
major hospitals and healthcare providers nationwide so we do have a
large pool of exciting travel jobs available. That, combined with
our more than 25 years of healthcare staffing experience, means
we’re able to locate specific healthcare jobs that smaller firms do
not have the resources to identify. So, tell us where you want to go
and we’ll go to work to help you get there. We specialize in travel
nursing, travel physical therapy, travel occupational therapy, as
well as travel for radiology professionals, respiratory therapy
professionals, sleep technologists, cath lab professionals, medical
laboratory professionals, oncology professionals, speech therapy
professionals, neurodiagnostic professionals, advanced practice
professionals, and more.
How quickly can
you locate a healthcare job for me?
Regardless of whether you’re a travel nurse, travel PT, travel OT,
or work in another of our many specialties, we’ve identified travel
jobs and direct hire (full-time) positions in as little as a day.
Realistically, though, it depends on the geographic area you are
requesting and the demand for your specialty. On average, it takes
us from one to four weeks from your initial contact with us until
you actually begin a travel job or full-time assignment. Some of our
employees even reserve positions nationwide as much as 5-6 months in
advance.
What happens
when my travel job assignment is completed?
Our priority is to keep you working in your healthcare career as
often as you would like. During your current healthcare job
assignment as a travel nurse, travel PT, travel OT, or other field
of specialty, it is important to work with your Account Manager to
decide if you'd like to extend your stay, choose a new assignment
from our nationwide network, or take some time off. The choice is
yours!
Is there a fee
for Aureus Medical's healthcare staffing services?
Our candidates and employees never pay a fee for our medical
staffing services. Our fees are covered by our clients who partner
with us to locate high quality RNs, respiratory therapy
professionals, cath lab professionals, radiology professionals,

What type of
housing will be provided to me while on my travel job assignment?
Aureus Medical’s corporate housing division,
AurHomes, is
experienced in securing and arranging housing in locations
nationwide. Your Housing Coordinator, along with your Account
Manager, will work together to provide you with high quality,
private housing (shared housing may be required in some instances)
during your travel nursing, travel physical therapy, travel
occupational therapy, or other healthcare staffing assignment.
Typically, your accommodations will be a one-bedroom apartment or
"extended stay" corporate housing located in an area convenient to
your assignment. Aureus Medical covers the cost of your rent. Many
of the housing providers we use nationwide have amenities such as
health clubs, tennis courts, swimming pools and hot tubs. Everything
is normally furnished, down to your towels and pots and pans. In
some cases, you may select your own housing using our attractive
housing allowance.
Can I travel
with a friend, relative, or pet?
Of course! A healthcare career in travel nursing, travel physical
therapy, travel occupational therapy, or other field of specialty
can be even more rewarding when you have your spouse or a close
friend with you to enjoy the experience. And, having your pet along
with you can make it feel even more like "home." However, you will
be responsible for any pet deposits required by the housing complex,
as well as any difference in housing arrangements (upgrades to a
2-bedroom, etc). You will also be responsible for any travel related
expenses for your traveling companion. Contact your Account Manager
if you have any special requests.
