Healthcare jobs are suitable for young people

The myriad of opportunities offered by the healthcare industry often come with handsome salaries, work hours that are flexible and job security – and they are attractive to young professionals, according to Forbes.

Whether they are professionals embarking on careers or high school students aspiring to work in the medical field, the opportunities are readily available. Many of them do not require much more than a Bachelor's Degree.

"Almost every one of these requires physical contact," author Laurence Shatkin told the news source. "You have to show up to do them. So they're not being shipped overseas, and they can't be done by a robot."

Shatkin's book, "150 Best Jobs for Your Skills," determined the 15 best jobs for people as young as 16 and as old as 24. Nearly half of those jobs are related to healthcare, and many have upward mobility and are projected to see significant growth in the coming years.

One opportunity, serving as an assistant to someone who holds a physical therapy job, commands a salary of nearly $50,000.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, all states in the nation require physical therapists to hold licenses.
