Battling the Heat Wave

I recently saw an interesting fact on the Weather Channel while doing my daily weather check.  I knew it was hot here in the Midwest, but on this day, it showed that more than half of the lower 48 states would reach over 100 degree temperature in one day. This would affect 54+ million people within those states.  That’s hot!  So, to help prepare everyone for these hot temps, here are some helpful tips to promote health and safety:

The main thing to do when dealing with high temperatures outside is to use common sense.  Protect yourself, others and pets from extreme heat and when you can, stay inside in an air conditioned house or apartment!  There are plenty of inside activities to do in the summer that can be fun.  Play a game, look for something to make a craft, or there is always cleaning and laundry day!  Have fun, enjoy your summer, and be safe!
