Aureus Medical Announces Contract Employees of the Quarter

Aureus Medical is happy to announce its Employees of the Quarter. Employees are nominated by their Account Managers each quarter. The winners will then be included in the Employee of the Year nominations. Congratulations to all!

Kristen R., Polysomnographer
Kristen has been awarded the honor of Employee of the Quarter for the Cardiopulmonary and Allied Health Division of Aureus Medical Group. She has completed eight consecutive assignments since 2012. Many of those contracts have been at prestigious institutions and our clients have nothing but wonderful comments on her assignment appraisals. These comments include “Kristen is a great asset to the lab”, “Kristen is a wonderful technician”, “I rarely give 5s so this is saying a lot about Kristen’s patient care skills”, and “Kristen is an awesome tech who knows how to think outside of the box”. She is extremely flexible and proactive with her compliance, rarely having to be reminded of things coming due. She truly exemplifies the idea of an Aureus traveler.

Lisa M., Sonographer
Lisa has been awarded the honor of Employee of the Quarter for the Diagnostic Imaging Division of Aureus Medical Group. She is the most proficient, professional and dedicated employee. Lisa has gone above and beyond the call of duty on her current assignment. She started last May and has been asked to stay on permanently dozens of times. A true traveler at heart, she’s turned them down each time, only to extend almost one full year. In addition to being a fantastic echo tech, she has essentially served as the de facto lead tech AND has been involved in hiring decisions within the department. She’s even taken emergency call when out of town, and given guidance to those back at the hospital when she’s away. This facility trusts her with everything in the department, and would have been lost without her this past year. Lisa has also referred several fantastic candidates to us as well, and through her help we’ve been able to establish wonderful relationships with several great new traveling employees. To top it off, she is a truly delightful person to work with, her generosity is beyond compare, and she’s a real asset to our division and company as a whole.

Allison G., Medical Technologist
Allison has been awarded the honor of Employee of the Quarter for the Medical Laboratory Division of Aureus Medical Group. Allison is on her 3rd assignment with Aureus and is doing a FANTASTIC job! She has not missed a day of work yet, always offers to pick up extra shifts, is flexible with scheduling, and most importantly does a great job technically! Allison is a diverse MT and has Hawaii, Florida, California and Louisiana state licenses. She is a full generalist working in all areas of the laboratory, with her strength being blood bank. She is such a hard worker and remains very professional at all times.

Constance (Connie) J. – RN (L&D)
Connie has been awarded the honor of Employee of the Quarter for the Nursing Division of Aureus Medical Group. She has done with travel assignments with Aureus, referred one hospital and always refers new candidates to Aureus. Her passion as an L&D nurse is wonderful. Her dedication to patients and newborns is amazing. She has been an incredible asset to Aureus Nursing, and represents us well. She has helped us land a contract at a facility in Louisiana that wanted her, but she would only go if they took her through us. Even if she is offered a contract with another agency, she requests that the contract has to be with Aureus. She continues to keep us in mind with referrals of other great nurses and asks us for business cards to hand out.

One of our account managers, Richard Kousgaard, had the pleasure of meeting Connie in person. Around that time, his family was expecting their first grandchild. At the time his daughter-in-law went into labor, Richard called Connie first so he could share the excitement and get some tips. There were some minor complications during labor, and Connie happened to be working that night. She told Richard to call her anytime to discuss what was going on. She assured him that everything would be fine, and of course, it was. Since then Connie and Richard remain close friends and talk regularly.

Courtney K., Occupational Therapist Assistant
Courtney has been awarded the honor of Employee of the Quarter for the Rehabilitation Therapy Division of Aureus Medical Group. She received the two nominations below:

“I nominate Courtney King for Employee of the Quarter. She is an extraordinary therapist that any facility would be lucky to have. She always handles everything professionally and with a positive attitude. I had the opportunity to meet Courtney at the TOTA Conference this fall. Her love for her profession shines through in the way she talks and handles herself. Courtney is even an educator for the PTA Tech program at the local community college in Victoria, TX. She always talks about the lessons plans she is creating and how she wants to engage her students. She is extremely involved with her facilities that she is at. She helps with the morale of the therapy teams and her patients. Courtney plays the banjo and regularly brings it in to work to play for her patients. Another quality that makes Courtney stand out from other travel therapists we currently have on assignment is her involvement in the #AurJourney campaign. Becci and I told her about the campaign and since receiving our t-shirt she frequently posts pictures on our page and uses the #AurJourney hashtag. Courtney is an outstanding therapist who has passion for her career, she educates others, enriches lives, and actively supports Aureus Medical’s Rehab Therapy Department.

“Courtney has worked for us for just about a year! She is the epitome of the all-around therapist! She has worked for me in South Texas and has been asked probably 10 times to go perm in that time frame. Courtney is great about making friends with anyone she meets. She takes all of the travelers under her wing and plans events for everyone to go to! She is also my tour guide for South Texas! I have learned more about cool things and events to do in that area than for anyone else. Courtney has been active in our social media page always sending and tagging pics of her adventures. In the facility Courtney always brings a smiling face to work and is loved by all of her patients! She dresses up for every holiday and also participates in cooking activities with the residents. She has even brought her banjo into the facility and compiled a band with the residents! She is always looking for fun activities and going above and beyond for her patients. She has even started teaching Yoga and helping students locally in Victoria. She has taken traveling to a new level with her involvement!”
