Kudos to you and your family for all you do. It reminds me of a few things right off the bat: “All gave some; some gave all.” I have the utmost respect for all service men and women and feel that no monument could ever be built to recognize the World War II veterans who are still with us or have passed away. To me, they literally saved the planet.

Please take time to stop and reflect on that each day.

We are so blessed to live in a country where we can freely worship without harassment, treat each other and ourselves with respect, and literally have endless opportunities to become and do whoever we were meant to be, and thanks to veterans centuries ago and currently, we’re all able to do that.

I’m currently on an assignment where some of the patients I treat don’t have running water or electricity, much less a TV, car, cell phone, or access to a computer.

If we have food in the refrigerator, clothes on our back, and some money in the bank, we are “richer” than probably 85% of the rest of the world. Think about that.

And “wealth” is not always expressed monetarily. A person can be wealthy in their relationships, friendships, career, and hobbies, yet have very little money, and still be extremely satisfied and grateful.

Just a few things to reflect on.

Thanks again to you and all the other service men and women in the US who have served and will continue to serve. It is a debt we civilians owe that can ultimately never really be repaid.

Bumper sticker I saw once: “If you can read this, thank a teacher. If it’s in English, thank a soldier.”
