Travel Healthcare Employees of the Quarter

Aureus Medical is pleased to announce our Travel Healthcare Employees of the Quarter. Employees are nominated by their Account Managers each quarter. The winners are included in the Employee of the Year nominations. Congratulations to all!

Melodie Anderson, Respiratory Therapist
Melodie has been awarded the honor of Employee of the Quarter for the Cardiopulmonary and Allied Health Division of Aureus Medical Group. Melodie is currently on her ninth assignment with Aureus and has worked for multiple Account Managers who all love her.  She has a great personality and is always willing to go above and beyond. She always has the patient’s best interest at heart and is a great representative of Aureus. Melodie is extremely deserving of this award!

Rebecca Eells, Sonographer
Rebecca has been awarded the honor of Employee of the Quarter for the Diagnostic Imaging Division of Aureus Medical Group. Rebecca has completed 10 travel assignments for Aureus and consistently receives high marks for her skills, abilities, and professionalism. She is just finishing her second stint in Virginia and once again received rave reviews. She has had to change shifts and housing, but took it all in stride. Here are some of the comments from her previous assignments:

  • Rebecca’s professionalism is exceptional. Thank you for sending her to us.
  •  Great experience. Would definitely hire again. Thanks, Rebecca.
  • We wanted her to leave Aureus and work with us permanently. She did both US/X-Ray and filled in while we were short staffed. She fit in well with everyone. Very high level of technical skill. Ability to communicate with staff at all levels. We hoped she would stay.

Marc Mason, Medical Laboratory Technician
Marc has been awarded the honor of Employee of the Quarter for the Medical Laboratory Division of Aureus Medical Group. Marc originally started working with Aureus when he was looking for a new direct hire position and we were able to place him at a client facility in Vermont. After working there for two years, he decided to relocate back to Indiana to be closer to family. After some time, the manager from the lab in Vermont called me and requested to have Marc back as a traveler! Marc had made such an impact on the facility that they thought of him immediately when they had a need for a traveler. He is not only an excellent MLT on the bench but he has a strong work ethic to always deliver the best results he can with patient care as his number one priority.  Marc is also taking online classes to complete his degree and obtain his ASCP certification as an MT. With his limited spare time, Marc volunteers with several local non-profits, serving food to the homeless or dressing up during holidays for children. We are so appreciative of Marc and happy to have him on our team.

Sharon Thiel, Speech Language Pathologist
Sharon has been awarded the honor of Employee of the Quarter for the Rehabilitation Therapy Division of Aureus Medical Group. Sharon has been traveling with Aureus since 2010. She has traveled in North Carolina, Georgia, Hawaii, Wyoming, Nevada, Connecticut, Oregon, and California!  She consistently receives raving five star reviews from the facilities. Sharon is flexible and has been willing to go to some locations that may not be her first choice and help those facilities. She recently became an Aureus Medical Mentor but has mentored people long before that. She retired in December 2017 but came OUT of retirement to help one of our clients in California where she previously worked and was requested by name. Sharon is positive, looks at the brighter side of challenging situations, and always makes the best of each assignment. Sharon is extremely deserving of this award!

Gilda Whittington, RN (Med-Surg)
Gilda has been awarded the honor of being one of the Employees of the Quarter for the Nursing Division of Aureus Medical Group. Gilda just signed on for her 20th assignment with Aureus and has worked exclusively with us since 2011. She is such a genuine, kind, and considerate person. She has done a fantastic job on each and every assignment and has extended several times. Any time Gilda is met with adversity, she has a positive attitude to overcome the situation. No matter what obstacle arises, she is always committed to completing her assignment and doing so with a smile on her face. Comments on her evaluations include “creat(ing) a harmonious work environment”, “very caring and kind”, and “a great resource for newer staff.” She is flexible and a team player. Gilda is happy to help those in need and is very reliable. Her Account Manager said, “I love working with Gilda and look forward to our chats each week!” Gilda is a huge asset to Aureus!

Jim Vilandre, RN (Psych)
Jim has been awarded the honor of being one of the Employees of the Quarter for the Nursing Division of Aureus Medical Group. Jim has worked with Aureus for two years and is on his third assignment with us. He treats staff and patients with the utmost respect and consistently picks up shifts to help out the behavioral health unit when needed. Jim receives consistent feedback singing praises of his tremendous work. These comments include, “Jim is a great asset to our team”, “He is a leader but also a huge patient advocate”, and “He can be counted on for all aspects of his job.” His manager at the facility recently sent this to his Account Manager:

“Jim is a wonderful presence. He is truly passionate about his work and is the textbook picture of a patient advocate. He will do everything in his power to make his patient’s feel as though they are his top priority. Jim will go above and beyond to not only help his patients but also his coworkers. He readily asks others what he can do to help them and quickly volunteers to help out when there are schedule needs. He has never turned down a task even if he hasn’t done it before but approaches it with a ‘tell me how’ attitude. He is always the guy with a smile on his face and a positive attitude no matter what is happening.

Jim likes to teach others. Here is a comment made by one of the students he worked with:  “Jim, the night nurse, was amazing and changed my experience. He made me feel so involved and even asked me many questions to enhance my knowledge.”
