Career fair presents options for medical careers

An Ohio medical education facility presented a myriad ways to work in healthcare to roughly 100 regional students, according to the Chillicothe Gazette.

The second annual Healthcare Career Night at the David Meade Massie Virtual Hospital featured representatives from colleges and universities talking with students about the variety of career and educational opportunities available within the medical industry.

“I think it’s interesting to look at X-rays and see the bones and everything,” Chillicothe Middle School student Myka Starling told the news service, noting that working in healthcare is of importance to her since she can help people as well as perform unique duties.

Starling was accompanied by her mother who acknowledged how much time she has to decide on a career but said starting now is perfectly fine and provides beneficial research.

Math and science teacher Todd Gilsdorf with Chillicothe Middle School said medical career night provides an opportunity for the students to explore what might be of interest to them. And then they may encourage those pursuits.
