Agency Housing: How to Make AurHomes YOUR Home

Finding the right housing can make or break any travel assignment. Many travelers prefer to take the housing stipend and choose their own living arrangements, allowing them to find exactly what they’re looking for. But what about those who dread the thought of apartment hunting every three months? And what happens when you take an assignment in a location with few housing options to begin with?

This is where our sister company, AurHomes, comes in and saves the day. Helping our travelers find short-term housing options nationwide since 2000, AurHomes specializes in knowing the markets around the country (including metropolitan, rural, and everything in between) and finds you safe, adequate housing while you’re on assignment. Not only will we find you housing, but we’ll take care of paying rent and basic utilities each month. Just like our Aureus account managers have developed solid relationships with hospitals to secure travel contracts, Aurhomes’ experienced and qualified staff has those same relationships with apartment complexes in all 50 states to help you find the right housing option.

What Kind of Housing Does AurHomes Provide?

The standard housing option is a one-bedroom, furnished apartment. In rural areas where apartments may not be as available, the next option would be an extended stay hotel. Housing typically includes items like living room furniture, a bed, a dining table, chairs, dressers, end tables, and a TV. Some options may include more, so it is always a good idea to check with your account manager on what all you would need to bring. Larger apartments can also be arranged if you are traveling with family or other travelers.

Can You Travel with Pets?

Speaking of traveling with family, that often includes our furry friends and other pets. Sometimes all you need to make a foreign city feel more like home is having a friendly face waiting for you when you come home after a long shift. You would have to cover pet deposits and in some cases put the lease in your name, but AurHomes will gladly help you try and find pet-friendly housing wherever your assignment takes you.

What Are Other Benefits of Using AurHomes?

Agency housing also relieves you of the hassle of paying for up-front costs and setting up basic utilities; AurHomes will handle all of that. We all know the time period between accepting an assignment and showing up on your first day can be hectic. Between compliance items, packing up and moving, and tying up loose ends at home, rest assured that AurHomes will make sure everything is ready for you when you first walk in your apartment door.

When Should You Choose the Housing Stipend or Use AurHomes?

Many staffing companies only offer the housing stipend, so the responsibility of finding housing for each assignment would fall solely on you, the traveler. When working with Aureus, you have options. Are you accepting your first contract and don’t want the added stress of finding housing in a city you know nothing about? Use AurHomes! Is this your third time taking a contract in Milwaukee and you know exactly where you want to live? Take the stipend! The great thing is that you can choose either one depending on what works best for you for each assignment. Just because you took the housing stipend last time doesn’t mean you can’t ask AurHomes for help the next time.

Do you prefer to use agency housing or take the stipend? What other questions do you have about agency housing? Give us a call; we’d love to talk with you more about your options!
