Hot Destinations Part IV: California

I know what you’re thinking. Part IV? But I thought it was a three part series? Well, it was supposed to be, but as the saying goes, change is the only constant! Plus, are you disappointed in learning about another hot destination you could travel to? I didn’t think so!

So, California. It’s huge. If you ever feel the need to drive the entire length of the state, it will take you approximately 15 hours. Lucky for you, you’ll have weeks and weeks to explore the 12 regions of Cali on your travel assignment. Regardless of the time of year you accept an assignment in California, you’ll enjoy beautiful weather and a great variety of activities. Here is a list of a few things you can see and do while on assignment in California.

Wine and Dine – With more than 3,500 wineries throughout the state, there is a reason California is known as Wine Country. Napa Valley in Northern Cali is most famed, but there are many other wine regions to explore, including cities and towns in Southern California and the Central Coast. Foodies will lose themselves in California’s cuisine. From foods influenced by other cultures, to organic food, to vegetarian and vegan dishes, your taste buds will not be disappointed.

R&R – Find your bliss in the Golden State. Wellness is a big deal in California, so it’s no surprise that there are many health and beauty spas and wellness centers at your fingertips. Soak in a hot spring while gazing out at the landscape or shut out the city noise without actually leaving the city at a lavish resort spa. Whether you have a few hours or an entire weekend to relax and pamper yourself, you’ll find something to strike your fancy.

Family Fun – If you travel with your family or your family likes to visit you while on assignment (I don’t blame them!), we’ve got you covered. Disneyland, LEGOLAND, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, and Monterey Bay Aquarium are five must-see attractions for all ages. If time allows, plan a road trip hitting all the top family spots in California!

Hit the Beach – California has more than 1,100 miles of coastline. Southern beaches are more laid back while northern beaches offer a more wild and dramatic experience. Wildlife viewing, scuba diving, and surfing are water sports the adventure seekers can partake in. If people watching is more your thing, head to Malibu or Laguna Beach for a more movie-like scene.

Nature – Use your down time in California to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and explore the beauty around you. Grab your camera and hit the road to nature. Redwood National Park, Death Valley, Lake Tahoe, and Yosemite National Park are just handful of places to experience outdoor recreation.
