Hot Destinations Part III: Florida

Average summer temperatures in the 80s, average winter temperatures in the 50s-60s, 1,200 miles of coastline – do you know what destination I’m describing? (Hint: read the headline!) Last stop on our journey of the hottest destinations for traveling healthcare professionals is Florida, where you will find opportunities for adventure around every corner. Check out my list of just a few of the many things you can do and see while on assignment in Florida.

DisneyWorld
Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World – How could this not be first on my list? Even if you don’t travel with children, Walt Disney World is an absolute must. Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom provides fun for all ages. Don’t worry about fitting it all in in a couple of days – since you’re located in Florida, you can come back for more!

Busch Gardens – Located in Tampa, Busch Gardens offers 300 acres of attractions, all based on exotic explorations around the world. Roller Coasters, a premier zoo (with more than 12,000 animals!), shows, restaurants, and more make up this unmatched experience. If you’re up for a thrill, head to Falcon’s Fury to soar like a falcon on North America’s tallest freestanding drop tower.

Everglades National Park
Everglades National Park

Everglades National Park – The Everglades is the third largest national park in the lower 48 states, behind Yellowstone and Death Valley. There are many accessible campgrounds for visitors to enjoy a weekend stay. Explore the diversity of the habitats by biking, boating, or hiking. If you want to learn more about the park than you might discover on your own, try a Ranger guided tour.

Florida Keys – The Florida Keys are a 112-mile-long chain of islands off the mainland that are accessible by land, sea, and air. If you are ready to relax and take it easy, the Keys are where you need to go. Dive to the ocean floor and explore a ship wreck. Browse local art galleries and museums for unique gifts. Take a nap in a hammock between two palm trees. It doesn’t get much better than being on island time.

Beaches – With 825 miles of beaches for you to dig your toes in, no matter your location in Florida, a beach is close by. Spend a morning doing yoga, dance under the stars, take a free sand sculpting lesson, go parasailing, or simply lounge in a beach chair and soak up some rays. Whether you opt for adventure or relaxation, you are sure to enjoy your time.

I haven’t even made a dent in the list of fun things to see and do while you are on assignment in Florida, but I’m confident you will have no problem discovering all the Sunshine State has to offer. Contact your Account Manager at Aureus Medical today to get your Florida adventure started!

  1. I have few RN friends who are looking around for good travel nursing opportunities. I will certainly refer them to you. No harm in winning a travel voucher from you.
