Holding onto memories from travel PT jobs

Chances are, the travel therapy jobs you take will each provide you with at least one memory to last a lifetime. Whether it's a gift from a colleague or a souvenir you picked up during your assignment, holding on to these mementos can become messy. Instead of picking and choosing what to pack up before you head out to your next excursion, consider some of these helpful organization tips:

Storing photos
Smartphone and digital cameras make it easy to store all of your pictures online. Uploading images to your social media profiles allow you to share your experiences with friends and family members, no matter where they reside. However, if you want to keep things a bit more private, consider an online sharing site instead. Of course, you could always go the old school route and use a film camera or print off your photos for safe keeping in a picture album or scrapbook. If you get creative with it, scrapbooking can be a great place to keep other mementos, such as ticket stubs and brochures, from your assignment. Or, you can add these items to a shadow box that can be hung on the wall for display.

T-shirts
During a travel PT job in Florida, you may not be able to pass up the temptation of a Sunshine State T-shirt. Sporting events, amusement parks and tourist destinations all make for perfect locations to find cheesy shirts to take home as a memory. But, what do you do when your suitcase is overflowing with these souvenirs? T-shirt quilts are a great way to bring all those destinations together in one place, and you get a cozy blanket out of it in the end!

Other keepsakes
Small trinkets and souvenirs from the beach can make the perfect center piece for decorating your apartment while on a job, all you have to do is neatly arrange your findings in a jar. A memory jar, made of glass, is the perfect way to create a keepsake for each travel physical therapy assignment you go on. These can be made out of smaller mason jars or larger containers that can be placed on tables, shelves or mantles. Overtime, you may decide to rearrange or add to the collections.

However, if you'd rather keep the memories tucked away but easily accessible, a memory box may be right for you. While you may remember having made these as kid, it's time to upgrade from old shoe boxes. Instead, many craft stores sell small wooden boxes that latch shut. Get creative with the exterior decorations, or simply stencil the name and date of your assignment on the box.

Even if you forgot to pick up a souvenir from your last travel physical therapy job, you can search online for personalized jewelry, phone covers or other art items related to the destination. Crafting websites such as Etsy allow you to purchase unique products from hometown individuals.
