Make Your Voice Heard

As the sights and sounds of election season come from our televisions, radios, and fill the lawns of our neighborhoods, we are reminded of the amazing opportunity we all have to participate in voting for our nation’s next leaders. While choosing between candidates may be a difficult decision, guaranteeing your vote is counted should be an easy one. However, many students and travelers around the nation won’t be at their permanent address on November 6th. So how do you cast your ballot correctly and make your voice heard?

Absentee ballots are available for those citizens unable to get to their designated polling location due to being absent from the area on voting day, having a physical disability, or adhering to religious beliefs. Most methods of absentee voting are fairly simple, but do require a bit of research on your end. The easiest way to find more information on your state’s particular method is through the voter registration website. This particular site includes all regulations, dates, and important information you will need. Complete these forms as soon as possible to ensure they arrive at the appropriate place at least a day before the votes are tallied.

Additionally, as a student or current traveler, it is important you fully understand how these elections will impact you and you patients over the coming years. In addition to a variety of economic and social issues, the revision of our current healthcare system has been put into motion over the past year.  Educate yourself on these issues and make the most of this opportunity to impact the future of our great country. Get out and Vote!
