High School graduate aims to serve as physical therapist

High school graduate Stacy Grabowski devoted six months to recovering from surgery to repair her right knee's torn anterior cruciate ligament and credits the rehabilitative work overseen by people who hold physical therapy jobs, according to the Beatrice Daily Sun.

And the recovery helped the Southeast Nebraska woman decide on a career path.

Having graduated earlier this month, Graboskwi injured herself while a sophomore and she said the recovery was a challenge but definitely worth the effort, time and energy she put into the cause. She now knows to what type of causes she would like to devote her life.

"I'm going to Wayne State College to study pre-med with a focus on physical therapy," she told the news source. "Physical therapy changed my outlook. I thought it was inspiring, and I want to help others get through their injuries."

Physical therapists help people with injuries or illnesses recover from those ailments that typically require rehabilitation and treatment, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Physical therapists find employment at private offices, clinics, hospitals and nursing homes.
