Ohio jobs site holds physical therapy, occupational therapy opportunities

The state of Ohio has set up a website to help job hunters and nearly one-quarter of the opportunities are occupational therapy jobs and physical therapy jobs, according to the Springfield News Sun.

Citing more than 800 opportunities, OhioMeansJobs.com holds postings from employers, job sites and newspapers. The website is primarily run by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. The Sunday edition of the news source noted roughly 150 of the opportunities are related to rehabilitation therapy jobs.

"We just filled an occupational therapist position," certified occupational therapist assistant Diane Jones told the news source. "It was open for a couple of years before we could fill it … there's such a shortage that it's hard to fill the position."

Ohio Department of Job and Family Services spokesman Ben Johnson told the news source that the agency is working to get a handle on aspects of the statewide labor market.

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services develops and oversees public assistance, workforce development and additional issues germane to employment in the Buckeye State.
