What to Be Thankful For

Happy Thanksgiving, Turkey Day, or whatever you may call it.  As you get ready for the many things that the Thanksgiving holiday brings – friends, family, and lots of yummy food – it is also important to keep in mind the true meaning of the holiday, thankfulness.

When asked what you are thankful for, common answers include family, friends, a home, a job, and so forth.  As a travel healthcare professional, you may have a unique list of things.  Your career path may be hectic, but it can also be very rewarding.  Here are a few things you may be able to relate to when making up your own thankful list.

Independence: You chose your path.  As a healthcare traveler, you are given choices of where you want your next assignment to be and when you want that assignment to happen.  How great to be able to always be adjusting your work so it can stay in sync with your life.

Learning Experiences: Healthcare is ever changing.  There is constantly new research, techniques, and technology in all medical fields.  In travel healthcare, you are able to continually learn new things and gain experience.  Taking these experiences and applying them to other assignments is what makes your career path so unique and special.

Patients: The job may not always be easy, but it is the patients that make it worth it.  It is your great work that many patients are thankful for.  So pat yourself on the back.  Be thankful for the fact that you are able to make a difference in so many lives.

Working Vacations: You have the opportunity to travel all over and never take a vacation day.  What a perk this is in travel healthcare!  Pick a dream destination that allows for you to explore on your off days.  And just when you have seen everything, you are able to pack up and move on to the next “vacation home”.

Maybe just a few or all of these can be added to your thankful list this Thanksgiving.  As a travel healthcare professional, you have so much to be thankful for.  You are at the forefront in making the difference in so many lives, so we at Aureus Medical are thankful for you.
