Eight healthcare jobs projected to continue growing

Eight key jobs within the healthcare industry are continuing to expand and drive the sector's rapid growth, according to U.S. News & World Report.

Registered nurses ply their valuable trade at hospitals, schools and within corporate circles. Nursing jobs are projected to see 26 percent growth by 2020. Pharmacists are forecast to enjoy growth of more than 25 percent through 2020 and their gainful employment may be found at both retail and hospital settings.

Medical assistants are projected to see growth of nearly 31 percent during the next 10-year period. Physical therapists are projected to see gains of 39 percent, and occupational therapists are projected to see increases of more than 33 percent leading up to 2020.

Clinical laboratory technicians are forecast to see expansion of nearly 15 percent in the coming 10-year period while paramedics will see growth of more than 33 percent through 2020. More than 20 percent growth will be enjoyed by massage therapists through 2020.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, job prospects for nurses are excellent at a number of different types of facilities, such as hospitals and physicians' offices.
