Physical therapists, occupational therapists projected to have a strong year

Occupational therapy jobs and physical therapy jobs are two careers for which projections are high this year, according to U.S. News & World Report.

In fact, the publication cited them among the Top 10.

Occupational therapy jobs rank 10th with an average annual salary ranging from $49,000 to $103,000 to help people with various disabilities cope with those challenges and bounce back. A large part of the reason why the career is so highly touted is due to the aging population.

The eighth spot on the list was captured by physical therapists with an annual salary ranging from nearly $54,000 to $108,000. This profession typically helps people bounce back from injuries and surgery by enhancing range of motion and muscle strength. Physical therapy jobs are likely to increase by roughly 40 percent by 2020.

Both physical therapists and occupational therapists typically require at minimum a Master's Degree.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, physical therapists typically find employment opportunities in hospitals, outpatient clinics and private companies that are equipped with machinery and resources that aid patients' recovery.
