Healthcare opportunities capture three of Top 10 best jobs list

Serving in the capacity of a physical therapist or a occupational therapist or holding a nursing job are among this year's Top 10 best jobs, according to U.S. News & World Report.

Occupational therapy jobs checked in at No. 10, with a salary ranging from roughly $49,000 to more than $102,000 per year, according to the publication, which drew its information from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. This profession aids people with various disabilities, whether they be mental, physical, developmental or emotional.

A physical therapist checked in at No. 6 on the list with a salary ranging from about $53,000 to nearly $108,000 per year to help patients surmount daunting injuries and conditions. Serving as a physical therapist is expected to be one of the most quickly developing professions during the next 10 years.

Leading the list compiled by U.S. News & World Report is registered nurse, for which the salary ranges from about $44,000 to more than $95,000. One challenge for entering this field is deciding which of the myriad opportunities within nursing to pursue. Further, the field is widening.

The top official of a placement firm told the publication that healthcare jobs are "the core industry in this country."
