Keeping Your New Year’s Resolution

Now that the New Year is here it is time for the inevitable New Year’s Resolutions!  One of the most common resolutions is to get in better shape and live a healthier lifestyle.  Regular exercise has been associated with more then just weight loss.  Other advantages include enhanced mood, lower blood pressure, increased energy, and reduction in risk of some cancers. The list could go on and on.  With all these benefits why do people not stick to their resolution?  The answer is that it must be a lifestyle change rather than a short term resolution. Here are some tips on achieving your New Years resolution:

  • Set only one resolution for the year.
  • Write it down!
  • Put a specific and realistic timeline on your resolution.
  • Make a list of what you plan to do to achieve your resolution.

Good luck and have a Happy New Year!
