Helping Hands during the Holiday Season

The employees of Aureus Medical believe it is extremely important to give back to the community. Throughout the year, we donate time and resources to various organizations around our area.

The employees of C&A Industries (parent company of Aureus Medical) generously donated for the toy drive benefiting the Salvation Army.

In November, our parent company, C&A Industries, hosted a company-wide toy drive for the Salvation Army. Our employees filled 23 king-sized garbage bags with toys to help fulfill some holiday wishes for families in need.

In the month of December, different divisions participate in “AurElves”, a concept developed by C&A employees that has grown substantially over the years into a company-wide effort to bring holiday cheer to the less fortunate in the community.

The Rehab Therapy division adopted a local nursing home. On December 23, they will be visiting the home to deliver gifts as well as hand out cookies and sing carols.

The Diagnostic Imaging team is participating in several volunteer opportunities. On December 22, a few members of the team, along with some Nursing employees, helped with the “Drive Thru Christmas” for the Open Door Mission in Omaha. Families in need are able to sign up to receive gifts for their children. Our team members helped load toys, sort items, and assist with directing traffic during the event. Other members of the Imaging team adopted several families, one of which included a child who was diagnosed with lymphoblastic lymphoma.

The Med Lab team hosted a “Chili Feed” for the employees of C&A. All proceeds went
towards purchasing diapers for the Open Door Mission’s Lydia House, a homeless shelter for women and children.

The Cardiopulmonary division adopted a troop of Marines in Iraq. They are trying to give them a little bit of “home” while they serve their country.

Several employees from our Nursing division served dinner to families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. They also adopted several families through the Salvation Army.  One Nursing team is volunteering at a local school. They help with homework, play games, distribute snacks, and prepare and serve dinner for the students though their Kids Cafe.

We encourage everyone to remember those who are less fortunate, not only during the holiday season, but throughout the entire year!

Happy holidays to all of you!
